Lake Mac Site Director

SITE DIRECTOR – Lake Mac Outdoor Recreation Centre

Have you ever considered an office on the shores of the picturesque Lake Macquarie? If so, look no further!

CRU has an exciting and unique opportunity for a full-time Site Manager for its ‘soon to be ready’ redeveloped site at Lake Macquarie. We are taking expressions of interest for suitably qualified candidates who are interested in commencing with us in February 2020. What a great time to be joining the team – new year, new role!

The Lake Mac Outdoor Recreation Centre is set on the foreshores of the western side of Lake Macquarie at Balcolyn and is one of two campsites owned by CRU. Both campsites are dedicated to CRU’s 3 core ministries:

  • Summit Educational Camps which run fully programmed camps for school groups during team times;
  • CRU Holiday Camps which run residential day camps for school students during school holidays; and
  • Schools Ministry, which encourages and supports Christian groups in independent schools

Our campsites also cater to church and other guest groups.

Reporting to the Director of Properties, and based onsite at Lake Macquarie, this position will see you managing five key areas of responsibility:

  • Christian Leadership of the site
  • Financial management
  • Management of human resources
  • Provision of hospitality services and facilities
  • Management of site and equipment maintenance

A detailed description of each of these areas can be found in the Position Description

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Experience in Christian camping and/or conference centre management
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality/tourism industry would be highly regarded
  • Be available to respond to on-call situations, living no more than 10-15 mins away from the site
  • A desire for ministry and an understanding of the dynamics of camping ministry would be an advantage but not essential
  • Mature and consistent Christian faith with active involvement in a Christian Church
  • A full agreement with Crusaders’ Statement of Belief
  • Trade qualifications and/or experience in building & landscape maintenance
  • Qualifications in hospitality management, human resources management or theology
  • Certificates and/or training in First Aid, Chainsaw, Boating and Tractor Driving
  • Hold a full Australian Drivers licence
