CORPORATE FIRST AID
WOULD YOU OR YOUR STAFF KNOW WHAT TO DO IF...
- A fellow workmate was found unconscious and not breathing?
- You were required to administer CPR to save a life?
- A child under your care was having a severe asthma attack?
- Someone under your care was bleeding from a laceration?
- A work colleague suffered an epileptic seizure?
OHS RESPONSIBILITIES
- All employers have legal responsibilities to ensure adequate First Aid provisions for employees.
- In addition Section 8(2) of the OHS Act 2000 requires that all persons in a workplace (employees or non-employees) not be exposed to risk.
- Therefore, it is recommended that access to First Aid personnel be available wherever there are more than 25 persons in a workplace, regardless of whether or not those persons are employees-WorkCover NSW, OHS Guide 2001.
