We love stories. And there's one that never fails to inspire us ... the story of the Jungle Doctor.

Dr Paul White (famously known as 'The Jungle Doctor') mortgaged his own home to purchase the Galston campsite for Crusaders back in 1950. It's amazing to think how one man's selfless generosity, under God, has made it possible for hundreds of thousands of children to hear and respond to the gospel since then. What vision and passion for the kingdom!

We urgently need to upgrade the kitchen & dining hall at our Galston campsite and are appealing for your help to generate the final funds needed to 'raise the roof' on this important project.

We are ready to commence construction of the Galston kitchen & dining hall this year:

• The Development Application has been approved by Hornsby Council
• Tender documents will be released within the month
• A quarter of the $1.6 million needed to complete the project has already been raised
• $1 million in borrowed funds is also now available for our use, if needed

All we need now is the final $220,000 to cover the cost of the roof and ceiling, so that we can commence construction with confidence.

Why is this project vital?

1. Thousands of campers over the past 50 years have made decisions for Christ and been built up in their faith at Galston. We must make sure that this continues.
2. The increased use of the campsite for ministry has been wonderful, but has added to the load on the kitchen. The number of people staying each year has risen by 11,470 (or 78%)!
3. Increasingly stringent government regulations mean that we cannot continue operating in a kitchen and dining hall built to cater for 120 people, at a campsite that now accommodates 220. We must complete this project or risk closure.
4. We must provide our catering staff with a safe & suitable working environment.
5. Modern facilities generate more bookings, which in turn generate profits for use in supporting our school and holiday camping ministries.

Paul White's example has inspired me to build on his vision by giving what I can to this urgent project.
