| The life of a senior school student |
This session explores various personal reasons for attempting the Preliminary Course and Higher School Certificate. It also examines the demands and adjustments that students can expect. |

| Preparing for the preliminary year and the HSC | After looking at the structure of the Preliminary Year and the H.S.C course, the attention of students is turned to the need to set goals. A checklist of their study habits serves to identify strengths and weaknesses. |
| Understanding Stress |
This session aims to equip students to cope with stress by helping them to understand what stress is, how it can be identified and how to manage it in a positive way. |
| Designing your routine |
The students are taught how to design their own study timetable, to assess their level of motivation and to establish the best environment for study. |
| Specific study skills |
The skills of note-taking, textbook reading, filing organisation and memorisation are the focus of this session. |
| Essay writing - general principles |
This session teaches an understanding of the basic skills of essay writing by the method of developing essay plans and the need for sound structure. |
| Hints for particular subjects |
The team members and the school staff present a series of hints on study techniques for particular subjects. |
| Exam technique before, during & after |
This session considers the appropriate way to complete final preparation, time allocation and order in the exam and post exam reviews. |
