Purpose built for school camps

Purpose built for amazing camps, CRU’s wonderful campsites at Galston Gorge and Lake Macquarie host the majority of CRU Educational Camps. Both sites have been specifically designed with a range of activities and physical challenges to provide a fantastic camp experience for your students.

Teachers and campers agree that CRU Lake Mac and CRU Galston Gorge are great places to stay.

“We were really appreciative of all that the staff did for us! The girls were very impressed with the food (especially the dietary requirements). They even cooked jam donuts! We also had the space to do all of the activities we wanted to - even in the rain!”
— Juliana Whiteman, teacher, Ravenswood School for Girls, 2017 [at CRU Galston Gorge]
“Everything was in close proximity so the boys could do their retreat workshops and then have free time… lots of seating and tables were just outside, as well as chess, and they loved the table tennis and pool.”
— Barbara Kinnane, teacher at Edmund Rice College, 2018 [at CRU Galston Gorge]
“The campers all raved about the modern facilities, the prime waterfront views, and all the green space available to run around playing sport or to chill out in the sun. It’s state of the art.”
— Emmerson Brumby, volunteer CRU Camp leader, 2020 [at CRU Lake Mac]

While most schools prefer to stay at CRU campsites, we understand that the needs for every camp are different. To allow for a wider variety of programs, the CRU Educational Camps team can run camps at different locations around Sydney, NSW and the ACT.
