The Schools Ministry team have just been reflecting what an amazing privilege it has been to visit and speak at so many schools this year.  We love supporting Christian teachers and students in schools. Schools are such busy places – but amongst all the busyness God has been at work through CRU groups, chapels and other ministries. I reckon we are all looking forward to the holiday REST TIME that is on its way! Hurrah!!

One of my favourite verses in the creation story is the one at the very end, where is says “By the seventh day, God had finished the work he had been doing, so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.” I always get this cool picture in my mind of God kicking back, checking out what he’s done, dusting his hands together and settling in for well-deserved kip.

This picture of God resting, is an awesome for us to remember as the end of year rolls around! When God finished his work, He rested, and so it’s only fitting that we should and need to be resting as well. God has made provision for his people to stop and recover, that’s why the sun goes down and the moon comes up, why our bodies get tired and we can close our eyes and head into dream land.

So as Summer comes around this year, and you head into the holidays… Please remember that after all your working throughout the year, God gives you and wants you to have a rest!!!

We will be praying that you all are refreshed, re-charged and well rested – ready to serve our great King again next year.
