Peter Crawford, Director of Schools Ministry
Peter wanted to serve in full-time Christian ministry since he was a senior student at The Scot’s School, Bathurst. After completing 4 years of theological training, Peter began working for Crusaders as the Boy’s Field Staff Worker and was appointed the Director of School’s Ministry in 1997. He is passionate about the ministry of Crusaders to tell the next generation of the Good News of Jesus and he considers it a great joy and privilege to share the bible with young people and encourage teachers in their faith and ministry.

Tom French, Schools Ministry Staff Worker
Getting to wear snazzy ties to work isn’t the only reason Tom loves his job at Crusaders. Tom believes that the Gospel offers salvation and has the power to transform lives which is why he loves getting to see so much good Gospel work going on in schools. He wants as many people to hear the Good News of Jesus as possible and is blessed to have a job where he gets the chance to share this message with thousands of young people every year. Before joining Crusaders in 2008, Tom worked in youth ministry at St Peter’s Anglican Church, Hornsby, and St Stephen’s Anglican Church, Belrose. Clare Wimble, Schools Ministry Staff Worker
Primary School Teacher, Clare Wimble, joined the Schools Ministry team in January 2011. She has extensive experience in education, having completed a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary). During her time as a teacher Clare worked in England, rural NSW and the Sutherland Shire. In 2008, Clare went to SMBC where she gained a Diploma of Theology and an Advanced Diploma of Ministry and developed a love of preaching. Clare thinks it is an amazing privilege to preach the good news of Jesus with kids and teenagers in schools each term. She seeks to live by her favourite Bible verse Acts 20:24 – “I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me – the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.”

Dan Odell, Schools Ministry Staff Worker
Dan joined the Schools Ministry team in January 2011, after completing his Masters of Divinity at SMBC. Prior to this Dan worked as an English teacher and also spent four years in marketing and sales within the building industry. In his role with Crusaders Dan hopes to face the challenges of presenting the Gospel to teenagers and children by creatively dispelling some of the myths kids have about Christianity. Dan is constantly encouraged by the way God is working to bring kids into His Kingdom and loves that through his job at Crusaders he can be a part of God’s work. He is passionate about doing whatever he can to encourage kids to keep following Jesus and make a difference in their schools.

Nigel Vaux, Schools Ministry Staff Worker
Nigel became a Christian in his final year of school at Barker College and was greatly helped in this decision by the many CRU Camps he attended. Nigel studied Theology and Youth Ministry at Moore College and, before joining Crusaders, worked as the Youth Minister at Panania Anglican Church and as a Registered Nurse. Every day of Nigel’s job is different and he loves the variety. One day he might be speaking to 1,600 students at a chapel and the next day encouraging a smaller CRU group to live for King Jesus at school. Nigel is encouraged by all students he meets who are living for Jesus in their schools and seeking to share the gospel with their friends.

Corinna Duggan, Schools Ministry Staff Worker
Rin goes to St Luke’s Anglican Church in Miranda, where she has been involved with children’s and youth ministry for the last 10 years. In 2009, Rin went to SMBC where she learned how to better understand the Bible and was equipped to teach it well. Before shifting into full-time ministry, Rin received a Bachelor in Nursing from Wollongong University and worked as a Registered Nurse. She thinks young people are incredible and loves hanging out with them every day, and is “stoked” to have the opportunity to share the gospel with thousands of kids each year. Rin became a Christian when she was in High School which is why she is so excited about sharing the gospel with kids. She says, “We make huge decisions about our identity as we grow up and I am passionate about kids finding their identity in Jesus. Plus kids are way fun!”
