STUDENT TRAINING



Schools Ministry provides a number of opportunities for both primary and secondary students to be equipped for Christian ministry.

PRIMARY STUDENT TRAINING


Followers In Training - Year 5 & 6 Student Leaders Training Meetings (FIT)

Schools Ministry runs a Year 5-6 training initiative called FIT (Followers in Training). FIT provides a unique program of Christian leadership training for students showing leadership potential in years 5 and 6. The seminars are designed to help students understand what a Christian leader is and how they can serve God at their school CRU Group.

SECONDARY STUDENT TRAINING

Students at Leadership Training - Training Meetings for Student Leaders (SALT)

SALT meetings seek to equip student leaders in their ministry through Biblical teaching on a wide variety of relevant topics. Held regularly throughout the year, these meetings seek to be a follow-up from JLC - to continue supporting and training students throughout the year and to encourage student growth in their faith and leadership skills.

Term 4, 2008 Dates:
  1. Friday 7th November, 2008
  2. Friday 14th November, 2008
  3. Friday 21st November, 2008
The topic for Term 4 will be 'Servant Leaders'
  • SALT runs from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm (afternoon tea from 4.00-4.30 pm and formal program from 4.30-6.00 pm).

January Leadership Conference (JLC)

This is a week long conference for Christian students, to assist teachers in their training of leaders. Our aim is to see students grow in Christian maturity and develop skills in sharing their love and knowledge of Christ.

There are talks each day from the Bible, as well as Bible study discussion groups. In addition to these, there are workshops which enable the students to learn practical leadership skills which they can use in their school CRU Group.

JLC is also an excellent networking opportunity for students from schools throughout NSW. Through prayer times, fellowship and fun, students learn from each other and friendships are formed that often last well beyond school years.

Teachers also attend JLC for one day to encourage students in what they have learnt and spend time planning and working through ideas for their school group together.
