Why leave a Bequest - Having a Will to win young people for Christ
Bequests provide for the issues you care about. They allow us to invest in capital projects, like redeveloping the Galston site, without having to borrow huge sums and then pay interest on these loans.
Including Crusaders in your Will ensures we can continue to grow and bear fruit long into the future.
We never forget that we have been able to do so much because of the sheer commitment of our incredible supporters who have already taken the step of leaving a Bequest to Crusaders in their Will.
How to leave a Bequest in your Will
See your SolicitorThe easiest way to include Crusaders in your Will is to visit your own solicitor. They know your circumstances and can give you specific advice on the different types of Bequests. They will also ensure your Will is expressed in correct legal wording.
Choosing the Right Words
If you decide to leave a gift to Crusaders in your Will, it is important to use the correct wording.

Different Types of Bequests
Making a Will is a very personal matter for every individual and we want to make sure you look after your family first. Some people do this by leaving a Residual Bequest. This means giving all or some of what remains of your estate after your expenses (including distributions to loved ones and other legacies) have been taken care of.
We highly recommend Residual Bequests because they maintain the relative value of your gift over time. This frees you from worrying about changing your Will if your financial situation changes as Residual Bequests adjust automatically to the value of your Estate.
There are other types of Bequests too, like leaving a set amount or a specific asset. You can find more detail on these in our Bequest brochure and by talking with your solicitor.
Remember, it's best to have your wishes expressed in the correct legal wording, so if you don't have a solicitor book an appointment at the next Crusaders' Wills Day in November 2009 by calling the Bequests Officer on (02) 9874 8933 (opt 4).
